So, you're going in for an interview for a logistics position? Wondering what to expect? Here are some tips for preparing for the interview, as reported from those who have recently gone through the process.

Aside from a typical question and answer interview, you are likely to receive an IQ and/or personality/behavioral test before sitting down to have the actual interview. Once you do sit down, some tips state that it is good to have about ten various story/scenarios that you should be ready to discuss. Stories describing potentially troubling situations you've encountered, how you handled them, how you assisted others, and the outcome. Having multiple stories ready is good because chances are you will be interviewed by more than one person, and possibly over multiple days.

It is a good idea to jot these stories down in as much detail as you care to remember, and be sure you have your facts and details memorized so as not to confuse and mix up stories. Especially if you do meet with different people at different times, and then circle back around to meet with some of the same people at a later time.

Many people reported that they were asked for multiple scenarios of issues/mistakes/shortcomings, and how they did and should have handled them. So it is important to have multiple scenarios ready to draw from. Situation and behavior type questions seem to be pretty standard and bear a lot of weight in this field, so that is a great place to really focus and prepare.

Also, it is an excellent idea to be prepared to explain why you desire a position at their company. Is it just another job, or is there a reason you chose to pursue a position there? Is there something about the company that stands out as being a better working environment over their local competition? If so, be prepared to explain what it is about the company, the structure, or the philosophy of the company that interests you. These are just a few ideas to keep in mind before going on that interview.
