Top Tech Destinations: With summer in full force and vacation on the brain we thought it’d be fun to create a list of our top eight geeky vacation destinations. 1. Silicon Valley, CA The silicon in Silicon Valley refers to the silicon chip innovators and manufacturers that made this the high-tech capital of the world. The products, ideas and innovations that have come out of Silicon Valley have forever changed our lives. This has to be the first or last stop on your tech travel adventures since there’s so much to do and see. In no particular order: • HP Garage - dubbed the "birthplace of Silicon Valley.” • Apple Headquarters. • Google Garage. • Computer history museum. • San Francisco Bay. 2. Seattle, WA Amazon, Adobe, and Microsoft all call Washington State home. If you venture out to Redmond, here you can find the official Microsoft Visitors Center and take a look at Microsoft, past, present, and future. You can look at the first ever personal computer, play Xbox on a giant screen, or experience Microsoft Surface. 3. Tokyo, Japan Sony may have put Tokyo on the tech map, but it has retained its technical command by being on the forefront of electronic knickknacks and gadgets. Make sure to visit the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) whose goal is to link people directly with the new wisdom of the 21st century. 4. Kennedy Space Center, FL Kennedy Space Center is dubbed our nation's gateway to exploring, discovering and understanding our universe. The spaceport has served as the departure site for every American manned mission and hundreds of other advanced scientific spacecrafts. 5. Austin, TX Alternative energy start-ups have gained a lot of notice and are making young, hip and eclectic Austin, a top tech destination. Austin boasts a tight knit, friendly and collaborative culture that will no doubt breed innovations to rival the tech Mecca of Silicon Valley. Show off your “Do It Yourself” spirit at Maker Faire, where everything is creative and new and sure to please. 6. Bangalore, India Bangalore is the epicenter of India's tech outsourcing industry and houses many IT companies, making it the Silicon Valley of India. Wipro and Infosys are two of the big players based in Bangalore. 7. Boston, MA Log off of Facebook and make your way to Boston. Harvard and MIT make this the hub for techies and ideas alike. Venture Capital firms like Charles River and Bessemer Ventures, to iRobot can all be found in Beantown. 8. Seoul, South Korea Seoul is obsessed with the future, which is evident in their openness to technology integration and their broadband system. Seoul is already home to LG and Samsung and will soon open New Songdo City which is a much anticipated futuristic city that efficiently integrates the latest IT and environment-friendly technology. You will be able to do just about anything from your cell phone from checking your medical records, to unlocking your door to paying your restaurant tab. 2015 will be an exciting time for all when the world's most futuristic city and the leading global business hub in Northeast Asia is unveiled.
